Garden Equipment In The Workplace
Gardening Machinery For Use At Work
A large range of gardening machinery is available for use in the workplace. Professional gardeners and landscapers have access to a large selection of different gardening tools to allow them to tackle any job which is required of them.
From a typical lawnmower through to equipment such as stone cutting saws and heavy duty shredders, a suitable tool is available to allow the neccessary work to be carried out quickly and with ease.
For portability the best option on powered gardening machinery is to steer towards using equipment that is powered by either a two stroke or four stroke petrol engine. With no trailing cables a petrol powered item of machinery is both safer and more versatile. A good example of this is the range of equipment manufactured by Honda. Typically fitted with efficient four stroke petrol engines this range of quality gardening machinery is quiet in operation (environmentally friendly) and capable of running for extended periods of time due to low fuel consumption from their easy to start power units. Having no cables (as with an electric lawn mower) this type of grass cutting machine can be used away from buildings and can even be used in difficult weather conditions such light rain. Of course an electrical piece of equipment cannot be used in these circumstances – both practically and for electrical safety reasons.
One of the most versatile items of machinery used in the workplace by landscapers is the common petrol powered stone cutting saw. This portable power tool is used for fast cutting of block paving, concrete and stone slabs, as well as general brickwork and stone work.
To keep weight to a minimum a portable petrol stone saw is generally powered by a high revving two stroke engine as opposed to a four stroke engine. Lubricating oil is mixed at a set ratio with unleaded fuel (petrol) and is contained in a small onboard fuel tank. This oil – petrol mixture lubricates the saws internal engine components eliminating the need for the unit to have a separate oil reservoir and pump.
This type of outdoor power tool uses various types of cutting discs depending on the exact material needing to be cut. Commonly used are inexpensive abrasive discs (for both stone and metal cutting) as well as diamond tipped blades for long life performance when cutting stone and aggregates.
In the Uk there are several popular brands of portable stone cutting saws commonly on sale. These include the ever popular stihl machines, models from makita power tools, partner, hitachi, and several others.
